PHILADELPHIA — The deadline for signing players to an extension on their rookie contracts came and went today and the Nets declined to offer an extension to Brook Lopez or pick up the third-year option on Damion James’ contract. The Nets could use up all their cap space to sign Howard and whoever else, and after that come back and go over the salary cap to re-sign Lopez. By not signing Lopez now, the Nets preserve salary cap space that can be used to sign Dwight Howard or any other available free agents. James had surgery Tuesday to replace a screw inserted in the foot last season when it was originally broken. Lopez said the Nets never talked to him about an extension and that was “disappointing. “I just think at this time, the flexibility, the injury — I’d rather look at doing it this summer,” Nets GM Billy King said of Lopez. James will be unrestricted. The decisions mean Lopez will be a restricted free agent July 1.

I'm going to go to James Avery and ask them to fix it, but I dont want to just go up and say, "Well, I put the ring on my finger, and when I tried to get it off it wouldn't budge, so I had to cut it off because it was cutting off the circulation... Ok so today i got my new and beautiful james avery ring stuck on my finger and i couldnt get it off (i blame the weather) so after a 15 minute soak in ice water, and a douse of lotion and soap, it concluded in a swollen red finger. You should say that you were at kinkos using the paper cutter, when suddenly an old friend came out of no where startled you and you closed the machine on your finger by accident but the ring saved your finger ,but alas didn't make it. Hence the... So, my last resort was to cut the ring off (not something i wanted to do, but it was the only thing i could do if i wanted to save my finger.
